TPO Roofing Building Owner’s Guide (TPO 101)
Thermoplastic polyolefin or TPO is a single-ply membrane roofing system that has become the industry standard for commercial flat roofs since its development in the early 1990s. In my opinion, TPO is the best roofing product out there for reflective flat roofs. Alliant Roofing Company began transitioning to TPO…
Public School PVC Roof Recover Project Change Order
One thing I have learned during my time as the owner of Alliant Roofing Company is to prepare for change and change orders. A change order is a change to the contracted scope of work. When used sparingly, a change order can be the right project management tool for a successful commercial roofing project…
World Wide Group Commercial Roof Recover
World Wide Group’s commercial roof recover project highlights the difference between a commercial roofing contractor and a roof asset manager.
Proactive Roof Maintenance
Better late than never is something you never hear a reputable commercial roofer say. If a building owner waits until something goes wrong with a roof, it might already be too late to save it. You must be proactive. Most building owners and property managers are smart; they know how to take care of their buildings. They either learned…
Alliant Roofing Growing in Central Washington
Experience, momentum, and opportunity are the three biggest factors for the growth of Alliant Roofing in Central Washington and into a regional brand. There are a lot of commercial roofs in this area that need to be fixed or replaced. Even more flat roof inspections need to be done. We recently completed a project on several government buildings in Benton County, and did a significant repair job for United Way in Kennewick. I am especially proud of that one, because we completed the work under bid, and ended up giving money back to United Way.

Building Owners and Managers: Know Your Roofing Systems
Most of us welcome the summer sun after a cold winter, but commercial building owners need to be attentive to the potential roof damage that can be caused by severe heat. Under normal conditions, Mother Nature is not always kind to flat roofs. Regular inspections are a cost-effective way to prevent big expenses due to weather damage. Commercial roofs expand and contract in prolonged high temperatures, and any flat roof system is vulnerable to damage. While most roofing systems are designed to have some movement, extreme temperature swings put any roof to the test.
Commercial Re Roofing Project – Grant County International Airport
Alliant Roofing Company re roofed the Grant County International Airport control tower in Moses Lake, Washington entirely at night, 150 feet up in the air. Alliant Roofing finished the month-long project in mid-May after dealing with several issues…
Commercial Building Roof Recover
The value of regular inspection and maintenance work on commercial roofs was never more apparent than on a recent project completed by Alliant Roofing Company. It involved a multi-tenant commercial building roof recover in a damp environment. While some building owners neglect to protect their investments with regular roof inspections, that was not the case on this project. Alliant had inspected, maintained and repaired this flat roof over many years. The life expectancy of a hot-tar roof (also known as hot mop roof) is about 20 years, and this roof was due for re-covering.
